Singapore F1 Sep 28th.

Aston Martin Asia Cup Round 7.

This was a fantastic circuit one of the best and hats off to all the Singaporeans involved they have built a great circuit within a few months. I walked the circuit when I arrived on the 25th and new it is going to very exciting as I love road circuits. I had my first test on Friday but within a lap I could remember the whole circuit I had a problem with the brakes and couldn’t get to the speed. I was 4th fastest but the top 3 was almost 5 seconds faster than me.

Qualifying.

We changed the brake pads to new ones to see whether we could cure the problem but with new pads it was worse. So I finished 5th fastest. Very dissapointed but I had no way to go faster because I couldn’t stop the car and I was 4 seconds slower than Sasaki whom I was always within a second and some times faster.

Race.

Again we changed the brake pads to a used ones but from lap 1 the problem was still there I started 5th but Melvin over took me by the first corner it took 3 laps for me to get in front of Melvin again and by then Ringo has pulled away. I couldn’t brake late and was almost braking with engine brake. I didn’t want to take a risk and I new I had to finish to keep the dream alive to win the chapionship. I knew if I tried to close the gap between the front runners I had the chance of a DNF. I took it easy and finished 4th but had a hard time with Melvin as he was getting closer. Now still I am leading the championship with 1 point. Sasaki won the race and he deserved it as he drove very well Christian 2nd and Ringo 3rd. The next race will be Shanghai F1 on the 18th of October.

Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Round 9.

First testing was really difficult as I had the Aston Martin test first and I had to run and get into the Porsche and didn’t have time to relax and the temperatures were very high I was finding it very difficult. I was planning to drive the Porsche with the cool suite but didn’t have time to do it. I couldn’t bare the heat but the first 3 laps I was fast as I knew the circuit but on lap 4 I came in and got out from the car for about 10 minutes and went out again I was 7th fastest.

Qualifying.

Once again I was 7th fastest behind Christian Jones and in front of Alain Lee.

Race.

I didn’t get a good start and Danny got in front of me and we were running very close and Danny and Mattew had a crash just in front of me and Danny still continued and the oil and water leaking from his car was coming on to my front glass and was very slippy. Luckily Danny stopped and I was able to get back to the pace by then Christian got away but I was able to catch him up and I was running same lap times as him. Then the safety car came up as one of the crashed cars had to be taken off the circuit I was trying to keep up with Christian and when there was 3 laps to go Marchy had a blown tire and I had a half spin in turn 1 due to oil on the circuit then I took it easy and finished 4th. This was my best result in the Carrera Cup. I think now I can get very close to the top runners and give them a good run hope to get to the podium soon.

But I was very happy to finish both races 4th which I think the only person to do it in 1 F1 week end it was really difficuly as we didn’t have much time between the races and as the 2 cars are two different ways to drive and different gear boxes it was very difficult in the first few laps. But I will do my best in the next race which is Shanghai F1 where I will once again compete in both cars.
