Malaysia Super Car Series Round 1 12th & 13th April.

We had testing and qualifying on Saturday but as there was a problem with the timing equipment we had 10 minutes of qualifying on Sunday as I was able to secure 2nd position Wira got pole and Weng was 3rd.

This year I am using my 2006 997 Cup car and driving for Speed Sri Lanka in all championships.

Race 1.
The weather was very bad but we had to gamble whether to run in slicks or wets our team decided to run in slicks so myself and Weng ran in slicks though Wira ran in wets. I was able to pass Wira in the start but as soon as we got to turn 4 it started to rain heavily so I had to come into the pits to change tires. I went out wit wet tires and on the 3rd lap I had big spin on the straight due to aqua plan and I thought that was it but luckily I managed to control without hitting the walls it was a miracle.

Any way I was able to finish 3rd and half way I lost the clutch. Wira won the race and Hammam finished 2nd in his standard Honda Integra he did a great race and Weng was 4th.

Race 2.
I had to start from the pits as my clutch was broken and we didn’t have enough time to change. So the mechanics had to push the to start. This was also a wet race but I was able to pass one by one and finished 3rd. It was difficult to drive without the clutch in the rain. Wira won the race with Weng 2nd.

Any way with all the dramas I finished 3rd overall with 24 points Wira 40 and Weng 25. As we didn’t rebuild the car after 2 years in PCCA we are trying to build as much as possible before the next round on the 10th & 11th of May. I really need to win the championship this year so it will be a hatrick.
