Malaysia Super Car Series Round 3
Sepang F1 Circuit June 14th & 15th.

We had only one test on Friday and then had Qualifying on the same day and 2 races on Sunday the 15th.

I got my gear box back from Australia after repairs in time. I was very confident for this race as Steve was here to help me. When he is around he sets up the car so well and I could always go faster. Weng also had bought a new Cup S so I knew it was going to be very hard as I had to fight with 2 Cup S cars and the Radical and all the drivers were very good.

Steve did a good set up and in testing I could go faster than last time and the gear box felt very good after the rebuilt. I was trying to follow the Cup S and they were too fast.

Before qualifying Steve did another change on the set up and the car felt very good. I qualified 3rd. Weng was 1st with 1:05.610 and Hammam 2nd with 1:05:640 and I was able to do
1:06:5 which was only 0.9 seconds behind the 2 Cup S cars. Wira was 4th with 1:07:3. I was really happy with the result. As the Cup S cars are very much more power full than mine and as they have much more grip I think we did very well.

Race 1.

I had a good start and by the turn 1 I was 2nd and Weng was in front of me.
After about 5 laps Wira over took me and later over took Weng also. I was running very close to Weng and in lap 10 I over took him in turn 1 but as I braked too late I locked my brakes and Weng over took me again but I finished 3rd behind Weng but very close and Wira finished 1st.The best lap I could do was 1:07 and I knew if I had to win I have to do few laps of 1:06.

Steve did few more changes for the 2nd race and I knew I could win this race and was preparing the race in my mind.

Race 2.

I got a good start and again Weng was in front of me. The car handled very much better. Although I engine is very weak I could keep up with Weng because I could go faster in the corners and I could getter better exit Steve had really done some miracle. On lap 9 I got a small space and I over took Weng in turn 2 and I knew I had to be very fast in the corners if not he would pas me on the straight. Also I knew if I did one mistake and it will be over I saw my laps time were 1:06 and 1:07 Wira couldn't get close to us. After I took the lead I never did a mistake and kept my position I saw Weng was trying to pass me on the straights but I braked very late and he could not pass me. I finished 1st Weng 2nd Mao 3rd and Hammam 4th. In race 1 & 2 Hammam did the fastest laps but he had a bad start. My fastest lap in the race was 1:06:6 and faster than Wengs. Wira had retired on lap 14th. It was a great result for us and now I have closed the gap with Wira for 12 points. So Wira is overall 95 points and I am 83 and Weng 77. I will be sending the engine for rebuild before the next race in July and Steve will do few more changes for my car and I am sure this way we can beat the faster cars again. I must thank Steve and Vince for preparing my car so well to beat the faster cars and I want to win the championship once again to make it a hattrick.

The Minister of Tourism Hon.Milinda Moragoda appointed me as a Tourism Ambassador before this race while I was in Sri Lanka and I would really want to thank him and this has given me more courage and spirit to win and to give more pride and victory for Sri Lanka it was so generous of him and I met the officials at the Tourism Ministry and they were very dedicated and I am sure this will promote Sri Lankas Tourism in a big way.

Mostly I must thank the Sri Lanka Media and Speed Sri Lanka who is behind all these victories.
