Macau 56th Grand Prix
20th - 22nd Nov 2009.

Testing was cancelled on the 20th due to many accidents and we had our first testing on Saturday 21st at 8.15am. As Michelin refused to give me new tires I had to use old tires from MME 12 hour race which was totally worn out. The surface was really slippery and it was so difficult for me to control the car. There were 35 cars and mine was one of the slowest cars in power. I was 5th fastest but 14 seconds slower than the fastest. I could do only a 2:43:5.

Qualifying.

I was able to find the money and buy 1 set of tires Michelin were really bad not to give me tires with all the help I have done for them for testing tires. I went out warmed up the tires in out lap but Hammam came from behind and hit me at Lisbo corner I nearly hit the barriers. After that I couldn't get a clear lap until the last one which I could do 2:33:985 and finished 4th even in that lap I got held up twice. With 35 cars running in that circuit it is so difficult to do a clear lap first 2 laps would have been the best but as Hammam knocked me every one passed me. Darryl took pole Sawa 2nd Danny Watts 3rd.

Race.

As I didn't get good tires I had to race with the old tires which I knew was going to be difficult. I got a good start and over took Danny watts in turn one and kept my position as 3rd until the 5th lap. The car was sliding a lot due to the old tires and in Mandarin corner I couldn't hold as the rear was sliding so I had to ease the accelerator and Danny got passed by no way I could keep up with old tires so I was running 4th and had to bring the pace down. Then I saw Hammam closing on so I had to drive a little bit faster although there was no grip on the tires on the last lap in turn 14 I hit the wall really hard ending the race the front left suspension flew away. But I was really happy to over take Danny Watts who is one of the most experienced drivers at Macau and I know if I have all the equipment right I can win in Macau will give the best next year to Win it. I was very disappointed with Michelin.
