MME 12 Hour Race
Sepang F1 Circuit August 7th and 8th.

I entered my Porsche 997 2006 Cup car with Nigel Albon from UK and Jeffry Lee of Taiwan. There were so many good cars and factory teams we had to compete against. Our crew was from Malaysia and from Philippines they were great guys. Our engine was little bit modified at least to keep up with the faster cars. There were few Porsche RSR, Porsche Cup S, Factory BMW Z4, Mostler MT900 the New Ginetta ,Radical and so many good cars including some more Cup cars with top drivers from all over the world.

We were able to qualify 5th which was great. I did a 2:10:0 and Nigel did a 2:11:2 and Jeffrey did a flying lap of 2:12:2 he did a great job. We had to run without cool suits I was ok with it and Nigel was also ok but we knew for Jeffrey it would be difficult.

I started the race it was so hot and after about 45 minutes I was really finding it difficult but had to do the 1 hour 15 minutes the temperature inside the car was over 60 degrees. By the time I came in we were running in 3rd my lap times were really good and we were keeping up with the faster cars. Jeffrey took the 2nd stint but unfortunately he came in 30 minutes because he couldn't take up the heat. It was an unexpected pit in then Nigel went and we caught up again. Because we had few early pit stops the 2 BMW works cars got in front of us and every time I went out I over took them mostly every faster car. I had no problems with the heat. Jeffrey was few seconds slow every lap but he didn't make any mistake and our pace was good. So we were always running 3rd. After completing 8 hours while Nigel was driving the engine blew and we had to stop. It was so sad as every one did very well and with a slowest car we were great to be up there and the crew was great every one was with tears. I was thinking we could really finish on podium but as always this is racing but we were proud of our team with a slower car we were beating all the fast teams. The 2 BMW Z4 factory cars finished 1st and 2nd and Wengs RSR finished 3rd.

Next year we will give another try to win the MME.
