Asian GT3 Round 1 race 1 & 2
Sepang F1 circuit Malaysia 15th and 16th May.

I will be also competing in the Asian GT3 championship this year which will be held on the same dates and places as Asian GT4. I want to win both championships and break a world by winning most of the races for a year held under the FIA calendar.

I was trying my best to buy a new car for this championship but couldn't find the sponsors yet. We have signed a contract to buy a new Lamborghini LP560 from Reiter Motor sports which will give us factory support but still finding hard to find the funds. Two Malaysian Companies Ray Ax which is a optical manufacturer and Sata a tool manufacturer has given me partial sponsorship unfortunately still I couldn't find any one from Sri Lanka. These two companies were so generous to support me knowing that I will be carrying the Sri Lankan flag.

I rented a 3 year old Lamborghini for this race. My first testing was on Friday and I could only do 5 laps as we had few technical problems. This was the first time I drove a Lamborghini race car. I was 5th fastest in qualifying fastest among the old cars. On Saturday in race 1 I started 5th but finished 3rd. During the race I still had some technical problems with the petrol pump and the gear box but was happy to finish 3rd . Mok Weng won and Michael Choi finished 2nd both driving the new cars.

In race 2 I started 3rd but in the start my gears were not shifting and got delayed to start by the time I started I was almost 12th. But gradually I over took and by lap 9 I was 5th. I was running old tires and couldn't control the car and also had the same technical problems I needed points to win this championship so some how I had to finish the race I finished overall 5th and 2nd in Masters. Alan won I was 2nd and Michael Choi was 3rd. I almost over took Alan 3 times but the gears did engage in time and in lap 12 I was trying to over take Alan and my bonnet flew away so I had to run the last 3 laps without the bonnet. Any after the 2 races I am 2nd in the championship and hope fully find sponsors to buy the new car.

My next race will be next week end the Malaysian Super car series.
