This is the best news in my whole racing career. I signed up with IWS Holdings to drive for them in the "Porsche Carrera Cup Asia" for 2004. In Sri Lankan history it is the first time a Sri Lankan company is sponsoring a International motor racing championship and also a Sri Lankan driver.

IWS Holdings is the Sole agent for Porsche in Sri Lanka. Few weeks ago I got a call from Mr. Chaminda Perera the C.E.O. of IWS Holdings and asked me whether I was interested in driving for them in the PCCA. I could not
believe it but I knew he was serious and I agreed. Later Chaminda and I flew to Singapore to meet the management at Porsche Asia Pacific and to confirm our participation.

IWS Holdings had the press release and a press conference at Colombo Hilton in style on the 22nd of January. The media was thrilled to hear the news as they were the ones who has always supported and encouraged me mostly.

I must thank IWS Holdings, the Chairman Mr. Arthur Senanayake and Mr. Chaminda Perera for giving me this golden opportunity and I will do my best for them and will win and bring glory for Sri Lanka.

Had the first testing and press release in Sepang. Our car looked stunning and it was great to drive a brand new Porsche Carrera GT3 cup car. I had driven the 993 RSR and also the 996 GT3 RS but I think the cup car is also as fast as the GT3 RS.
Mr. Arthur Senanayake chairman of IWS Holdings, Chaminda and anotherDirector Uidya Amarapala a old friend of mine came to support me for the test days. It is great to be with them as they are very understanding and very supportive. I have driven for many teams but I think IWS Holdings is the best I have ever had. EKS Motor Sports did a great job looking after the car and setting it up for me. I met lot of gold friends.
Everyone at Porsche was so friendly and supportive and they gave us a great time and it is nice to be with them. I am sure I am going to enjoy in Asia and to be with Porsche and also to be sponsored and supported by IWS Holdings.
Last year I could not drive in any international events so I had to get back to the racing mood and was very careful in these 2 days. Charles Kwan was very fast and most of the drivers are faster them I thought. I started with a lap time 2'23" and finished with 2'17"on the 2nd day. I am sure I will do better for the first race on the 21st of March. The best thing I like in the PCCA is every including the management,drivers, mechanics and also the sponsors are so friendly and the atmosphere is so good. It is great to be a member of such a good bunch of people looking forward for the first race 21st of March which is a support race for F1 in Sepang. I will do my best for everyone. I must thank everyone who has supported me in everyway for me to achieve my goals and I know there will be a lot of Sri Lankans to support me at Sepang which will give me a lot of bhp.
