I was happy with the results this time. This was my first time at Golden Port Circuit it is twisty with a length of 2.3kms. I had difficulties setting up the car. My lap timing was getting better in every session on Friday and the test session on Saturday. On qualifying as I was entering in to the track the bonnet came up and broke the windscreen. I had to come back to the pits to fix it. The mechanic has forgot to lock the pins on the bonnet. I could hardly see with the cracked glass but qualified 9th.

In the first race on the first few corners I was able to pass few and get to 7th but on the last corner I had a spin which made me to be last again but caught up and passed many cars. On the 8th lap the race was red flagged I was feeling happy because I could start in the front but I got a penalty because I have passed some one without seeing the Yellow flag. This time I had to start from the last and we had only 12 laps. I had a real good race and finished 6th.

The 2nd race I started 6th but did not get a good start. On the 2nd hair pin bumped with another driver which took few seconds but was trying to catch up. On the 9th lap I had a clutch problem and had to slow down but finished 7th. With points in these 2 races I am back in 9th place overall.

Mr.Arthur Senanayake Chairman Of IWS Holdings my Sponsor was always with me during the race week end and he was giving me courage and support all the time which I think none of the other drivers had. I think it is time for me to give him a podium finish. I will be having my Japanese engineer for the next race to help me set up the car and to win.
