Round 1 Sepang

Round 1 Sepang

Porsche Infineon Carrera Cup Asia 2005.

This year I will be competing again in the PICCA. I have got a new sponsor from Japan this year Mr.Yoshiyuki Hayashi and Ai Racing. We bought a 2003 car which

William Heinecke raced last year.

Round 1 Sepang 20th March.

This year the competition is more as many fast drivers from Europe has joined the Championship. I qualified 12th. I was 2 seconds faster than last year. On the race the clutch broke just after the start and that was it.

Round 2 & 3 Sepang

Round 2 & 3 Sepang

Round 2 & 3 Sepang 15th May.

This race we used the short circuit which I enjoyed. I was getting faster and I qualified 10th. The first 10 cars qualified almost within 1 second.

On the round 2 my start was not so good but I managed to get close to the front runners. Finished 6th in the class A. On the 12th lap I had a half spin because one of the cars had blown the engine and there was engine oil on the race line. So I decided to take it cool and slow down because I was desperate for points and wanted to finish the race. The lap times were very good and very close to the front runners. As usual I was 0.3 seconds quicker than the qualifying.

Round 3 once again I had a bad start but my lap times were not so good as round 2, I think because I used the same tyres which I used for qualifying. But managed to finish

10th. I was happy to finish both races and start getting points. Round 4&5 will be in Thailand on the 12th of June one of my favorite circuits hope I can do better.

Celica

May 28th Pannala Speed race Sri Lanka.

I drove my Celica and won the Group A class. It was good to get to the podium again. My Celica is not as fast as the new Mitsubishi EVOs and the Subaru Impressas

But experience counts a lot. My friend from England Peter Allnut was in Sri Lanka and he prepared my Celica which ran well. We always had a over heat problem but now it seems to be ok. So I know this year it will be fun to race in Sri Lanka I can give a good run to the faster cars.
